Using the Internet to explore and enhance your faith
by Mark Allen on Thursday, April 23rd, 2009This Sunday I’m going to be leading an Adult Education class about using the Internet to explore and enhance your faith. I’m going to use this post to help direct people in the class as well as others to tools and sites around the Internet.

Personal Points of View
There’s a strong difference between someone writing with an institutional voice, and someone who writes only for him or herself alone. In this next section, I present some group blogs which collect together individual writers who come from various spiritual backgrounds and traditions.
Whether or not you agree with their points of view, they will be thought provoking.
- RevGalBlogPals – a group blog featuring women in or around ministry (not Presbyterian specific.)
- (Unofficial) PC(USA) Blog – self described as “[a] community for those whose blogging is decent and in order” in the finest Presbyterian tradition.
- God Parenting – written for people who want to be involved in the spiritual lives of children, written by “mommy Helen” who an Episcopal priest (and mommy, obviously.)
- Journey with Jesus – a free weekly ecumenical Christian newsletter with lectionary selections and meditations
Devotionals
- Daily Bible – offers daily devotionals in three length formats, and in five different translations.
- Crosswalk Devotionals – Crosswalk is a very large Christian web site and their devotionals section collects together dozens and dozens of devotionals organized by various categories (e.g., women’s, men’s, lifestyle, etc.)
Don’t be afraid to explore topics of interest by using your favorite search engine.

Annual Church-wide Rummage Sale
by Mark Allen on Sunday, April 19th, 2009Trinity’s annual church-wide rummage sale will be held Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2. There is still time to donate gently used items for sale.
Volunteers to help organize and price donations and run the sale are still needed (and very welcome.)
Things which always sell well include children’s clothing, DVDs, CDs, and (recent) books.
For more information about the rummage sale, see the sign up sheet in the Welcome Room, call the church office, or contact Gretchen White.
If you need assistance getting larger items to the church, arrangements can be made by contacting Greg VanderVeer.
