Mission

Trinity is committed to sharing the love and good news of Jesus Christ in our homes, church, community and the world.

Local Outreach

Trinity directly sponsors and/or hosts some of the ongoing mission programs that are offered in our community. Those programs are:

Extra Innings Learning Lab is a tutoring and mentorship program in cooperation with the city of Landfall, MN, neighboring schools and the community group Family Means. Tutoring is in session from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the school year. If you are interested in tutoring or live within the city of Landfall and would like a tutor, please contact Trina Funches at extrainnings@hotmail.com . Trinity contact person: Bob Anderson. Elder Friends of South Washington County is a Christian-based program that serves the elderly by providing a reliable, safe, and friendly environment for participants each Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. throughout the year.

Mental Health & Wellness Group: A ministry to and with people and families affected by mental illness. Educational programs on various topics are held on the 4th Monday of each month (except May and December) at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. These events are free and open to the public.

In addition, Trinity members are encouraged to participate in other local service projects such as:

Family Place: A day center for families living without permanent housing located at the First Baptist Church in St. Paul. Families or groups of individuals from Trinity Presbyterian Church volunteer to provide a late afternoon meal on the fourth Sunday of each month.

Project Home: A program of St. Paul Area Council of Churches (SPACC) which provides overnight housing for families experiencing homelessness in Ramsey County. Groups of Trinity members assist other churches several times each year by volunteering as Evening Shelter Hosts and Overnight Shelter Hosts.

National & International Outreach

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is an arm of the church which provides a ministry of relief and response to national and international disasters, aid to refugees and displaced people, refugee resettlement and community development. Here in the US opportunities exist for volunteers to join teams throughout the year.

Members have served with PDA in the past and are encouraged to inquire about financial assistance from the Mission & Action Committee. Trinity church contact person: Barb Freeman. Contact the church office at 651-738-0045.

Intercambio Cultural Maya is an ecumenical group working with service-learning projects in the Yucatan region of Mexico. Trips occur twice each year and include opportunities for work in health education, medical/dental clinics and construction projects in urban and rural areas. Trinity Members have served in the past and are encouraged to inquire about financial assistance from the Mission & Action Committee. Trinity church contact person: Sue Bergeron. Giving Opportunities

In-Kind

  • Christian Cupboard and Christian Closet – food, hygiene and cleaning supplies; seasonal clothing
  • Family Place – small size hygiene supplies
  • Extra Innings Learning Lab – school tools
  • Project Home – project oriented collections
  • Local School Children – mittens, hats and scarves during the Advent season

Alternative

  • Alternative Christmas Market – Trinity’s own ministries along with several highlighted organizations receive donations for specific projects which are given as gifts on behalf of their recipient. Other organizations for which projects are supported include Heifer, Solar Oven Society, Medical Benevolence Foundation and Church World Service.
  • NetWorkers Malaria Prevention Program – A community-based program of education for malaria prevention and provision of insecticide-treated mosquito nets available at affordable rates or at no cost. This program is implemented by the women of our PC(USA) partner churches.
  • Children’s Offerings each Sunday support Heifer and “Remember Niger” student scholarships.
  • Café Justo – A fair trade provider of coffee which is harvested, roasted and packaged by the producers and available for purchase at Trinity.

Monetary

Contributions can be made to any of the above activities by noting their designation in your check made out to “Trinity Presbyterian Church”.
