by Joe Pendal on Saturday, September 4th, 2010With one week to go before the beginning of the Christian Education year, you are invited to complete the registration form for Trinity ALIVE! A registration form must be submitted for all participants including adults. Individuals and families may participate on a week-to-week basis, but must reserve their spot for dinner no later than Monday at noon the week they intend to attend. Our first such deadline is Monday, Sept. 13 at noon to reserve a spot for Wednesday, Sept. 15.
There is still room for more participants in the Read the Bible in 90 Days program. Deadline is Sunday, Sept. 12 to allow time for the ordering of Bibles. If you wish to purchase the Bible in 90-Days Bible, the cost is $14.99.
We have a great group already, but always seek more. Please sign up … an organizing meeting will be held Sept. 25 at 10:00. The first day of reading is Sunday, Sept. 26 with your final day of reading Dec. 24.
Also, we are attempting to create a Children & Youth Directory that will include all children from birth to 12th Grade. This will also serve as a Sunday School registration form for those PreK-12th Grade.

RALLY SUNDAY A WEEK AWAY
by Joe Pendal on Saturday, September 4th, 2010Sunday, Sept. 12 is Rally Sunday, the day we kick-off our new Christian Education year. Join us for the inaugural Rotation Model Sunday School for PreK-6th Grade (9:00-9:50). Adult Education runs at the same time featuring a discussion on The Body of Christ-The Church. Confirmation Class members will join that adult class in the Fellowship Hall.
Following Worship (10:00-11:00), we will enjoy the fellowship and tastiness of a Church Family Potluck. Please note that the birth month of the eldest female in the household determines what to bring: Jan-Apr: Entrees; May-Aug: Salad; Sept-Dec: Dessert.
A FINAL NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL ON THE 12th AS WE WANT ALL TO ENJOY THE POTLUCK.

This is a program for all ages, not just the kids.

AN OVERVIEW OF DISABILITY MINISTRY

On Monday, September 27, the Rev. Zack Gill, co-founder and director of JRG Ministries, will give an overview of disabilities, and will share the story of his family’s journey that led him to start this ministry. Please join us at 6:30 pm. This event is free and open to the public.
Objectives:

· Indicate the role of faith communities to those with a disability
· Describe what a disabilities ministry looks like
SEIZURE RECOGNITION and RESPONSE TRAINING
by Dee Lindblom on Wednesday, August 4th, 2010Epilepsy is a generic term used to define a variety of seizure disorders. A seizure is a disturbance in the electrical activity of the brain. A type of brain storm. 25 million Americans, (that’s 1 in 10), have had, or will have, a seizure of some kind at some point in their life.
Participants will learn:
· about primary seizures types
· appropriate first aid responses
· treatment options available
(demonstrated with the use of a video)

This event is free and open to the public. CEU’s available for Teachers, Social Workers and Nurses through the Epilepsy Foundation of MN.
CHURCHES RESPOND TO TEEN SUICIDES
by Dee Lindblom on Monday, July 12th, 2010A program to provide information, heighten awareness, and extend support and encouragement to those effected by, or concerned about, suicide will be held Tuesday, July 20 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2125 Tower Drive, Woodbury. Doors open at 5:30pm.
The program will include:
· Presentations by a suicide survivor and mental health professionals
· Question & answer time
· Ecumenical prayer service
· Information tables

VBS JUST TWO DAYS AWAY
by Joe Pendal on Saturday, June 12th, 2010Greetings, All! Monday morning at 9:00 we kick-off the 2010 VBS program, GALACTIC BLAST.
We have a great group of kids signed-up and a caring and creative bunch of adult and youth volunteers who will be helping out.
If you have not signed-up or registered, you can still do so tomorrow before and after Worship. Cost is $15 per child, $40 maximum per family. Checks made out to Trinity with memo notation VBS.
If you plan to register Monday morning allow extra time. No child, for whom we do not have a registration form, will be able to participate. We need that information for child safety purposes and contact information.
We are going to welcome a record number of kids to VBS this year, and it is truly going to be a BLAST!
